CAS Advancement Services & Donor Stewardship

The Advancement Services team is made up of separate but interconnecting areas of work. The team works closely with central Advancement colleagues, internal CAS Advancement colleagues, and academic unit partners to provide actionable and transparent resources related to workflow and best practices in the areas of digital communication, gift acceptance, donor stewardship, and fund creation/management.

The team is responsible for production, management, and analysis of a wide range of activities, ensuring that we are effective stewards of our Arts & Sciences alumni, friends, and gift funds.

Digital Communications

  • Production of department and CAS Advancement newsletters, digital appeals, event invitations & online registrations
  • Process management and best practices related to digital communications (including accessibility standards)
  • Coordination with central digital communications teams, including Technology & Learning Team
  • Onboarding and ongoing training and resource creation

Gift Agreement & Fund Management

  • Creation and tracking of new agreements and funds
  • Fiscal stewardship of established funds – spending, closing, amending
  • Market Value, fund balance, distribution projections
  • Coordination with Planned Giving, Endowment Donor Services, Gift Services, Treasury and Grants & Contracts teams
  • Onboarding and ongoing training and resource creation

Stewardship

  • Stewardship and cultivation events
  • Gift Acknowledgements
  • Quarterly messaging to all donors, HSS members, and prospects regarding philanthropic impact
  • Specific and general impact reporting as requested
  • Stewardship of HSS members, campaign donors, and other specific donor audiences
  • Appointed faculty announcements and stewardship coordination
  • Dean’s office scholarship & fellowship announcements and stewardship coordination
  • Stewardship consultations with fundraisers and department partners
  • TogetherUW honorary and memorial crowdfunding page creation and management
  • Coordination with the Philanthropic Recognition Programs and Annual Philanthropy teams
  • Onboarding and ongoing training and resource creation

Prospect & Proposal Management

  • Analysis by divisional beat, capacity, communication/invitation list, campaign donor, and portfolio
  • Coordination with central Prospect Development team
  • Process management, best practices and resource creation
  • Production projections

Reporting

  • CAS fundraising production performance
  • CAS digital communication performance
  • CAS proposal pipeline and activity
  • CAS fundraiser activity (qualifications, contacts, YoY analysis)
  • Fiscal stewardship and gift fund management
  • Coordination with central Advancement and University reporting teams

Jill Doran, Executive Director, Advancement Services

Jill leads the CAS Advancement Services team and is responsible for developing and implementing strategies related to the College’s donor and fiscal stewardship practices, prospect management policies, and fundraising and engagement performance analytics.

Lauren provides administrative and project assistance to both the Advancement Services and Corporate & Foundation Relations teams.


Lindsay Bailey, Associate Director of Advancement Services

Lindsay manages and executes the programmatic suite of stewardship activities the College provides to our donors, including establishing and refining our best practices for communicating and engaging with our stakeholders, planning stewardship and cultivation events, evaluating and updating the content and training we provide to our academic partners, and serving as a consultant to departments on stewardship best practices. Lindsay also provides supervisory support to our Digital Communications team.


Mike Lee, Data & Reporting Analyst

Mike is responsible for report production, information analysis, and data integrity in service of CAS Advancement goals and priorities. He also plays a key role in process development related to Advancement operations, including training colleagues on reporting tools, processes, and rules governing data use.


Kabrina Wright, Advancement Operations Support Analyst

Kabrina maintains data quality and assists with the creation and maintenance of data requests, data visualization reports, data and program analysis projects, and data audits. Kabrina also manages, maintains, and communicates current and new procedures that support CAS Advancement activity. 


Rebecca McIntire, Assistant Director, Donor & Fiscal Stewardship

Becky manages stewardship activities for Arts & Sciences donors, ensuring weekly acknowledgments of gifts, managing faculty appointment stewardship communications, stewarding scholarships and fellowships administered by our Dean's Office, and working to thank and engage our loyalty and HSS donors. She is also our point person for questions related to managing and amending the College's endowed and current use gift funds, and is a key partner in the team's efforts related to data analysis, research, and overall data management in support of CAS Advancement priorities.


Levi Coffin, Assistant Director, Endowment and Gift Documentation

Levi serves as the administrative lead for new gift agreements, working closely with CAS gift officers and Central Advancement teams to create impactful gift fund agreements established by or benefitting the College of Arts & Sciences. They also provide training, document processes, provide reporting, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure that pledges are booked, proposals are closed, and stewardship has been initiated for newly established funds.


Sovannarith Khem, Digital Communications Coordinator

Sov works with our Digital Communications Steward and MarComm colleagues to confirm project requests, manage projects, and produce digital communications that contribute to the College of Arts & Sciences' broad-based engagement plans. Sov also maintains the Digital Communications Toolkit.


Avanna Griffith, Advancement Events Specialist

Avanna supports the strategy, development and execution of a wide range of signature college events and initiatives geared toward donor/supporter stewardship, cultivation and pipeline development, student recruitment, and general visibility efforts for the College of Arts & Sciences. She is a dual report, sitting on both the Advancement Services and MarComm teams.


Benny Shell, Advancement Relations Officer

Benny plans, manages and implements divisional efforts to build relationships with donors and prospects from across the Arts division. Benny's responsibilities include planning special events, supporting fundraising and stewardship, alumni and donor relations, and external communications. He is a dual report, sitting on both the Advancement Services and Development teams.
