Present:  Emma Alder (EH&S rep.), Rich Ball, Ann DePasquale, Wanjiku Gitahi, Elena Johns, Jimmy Johnson, Peter Johnston, John Martin, Ron Maxell, Paul Miller, Lauren Monroe, Risa Morgan-Lewellyn, Ulrika O’Brien, Heidi Tilghman, Beverly Wessel

                     I.            Meeting called to order at 2:35 p.m.

                   II.            The minutes from the March 2014 meeting were approved.

                 III.            Ron and Emma reported on the April University-wide EH&S meeting.  
At the meeting, there was a discussion about how to best disseminate information to employees about the existence of their safety committees. 
EH&S is in the process of hiring an ergonomist. 
Workers’ Remembrance Day is on April 28.  Gather in Red Square at 11:30 a.m. to remember the 53 workers in the state of Washington who died on the job last year.

                IV.            Follow up on incomplete February OARS reports: all are now complete

 

                  V.            Review March OARS reports:

                VI.            Follow-up on A&S unit distribution/Discuss next steps:
All units have now been assigned to committee members who can begin contacting the safety coordinators of those units for their updated Health & Safety plans (not just the back page as in previous years).  Ann will send instructions and a sample template with all the necessary details.    

 

               VII.            There was no new business.

 

             VIII.            The next meeting will be on Thursday, May 15, at 2:30 p.m. in CMU 126.

 

                 IX.            The meeting was adjourned at 3:35 p.m.
