I. Meeting called to order at 3:03 p.m. by assistant-chair Natassia Stelmaszek
II. The minutes from the May 2017 meeting were approved.
III. University-Wide Health and Safety Committee meeting report, June and July: The following issues were presented and/or discussed: UW alerts; 2018-19 elections; organizational group reports; new committee on emergency readiness; new driver distraction laws effective 7/23; concerns about foot traffic & vehicles at Molecular Engineering building; above ground construction to begin at light rail station on Brooklyn; L&I update: School of art inspection closed with no finding; APP project phase 2 to replace health & safety plans is in progress; email disaster@uw.edu about any large events coming up.

V. New Business: 2018 committee elections are coming up. Maggie will coordinate for our group. Call for nominations will be sent to administrators & chairs for distribution to all A&S employees.
Our committee should have a charter. Wait to discuss at next meeting when Paul Miller returns.
Coyotes spotted on campus. Angie recommended filing an OARS report.
The next meeting will be on Thursday, August 17 at 3 p.m. in CMU 065. June & July OARS reports to be reviewed.
