Overleaf LaTeX Editor Professional Upgrade

The UW College of Arts and Sciences, Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering, Information School, Foster School of Business, and the College of Engineering have partnered in providing foundational funding to support and enable Overleaf Professional features for all students, faculty and staff who would like to use a collaborative, online LaTeX editor for their projects. Overleaf Professional features include real-time track changes, unlimited collaborators, and full document history.

Overleaf is an online collaborative scientific writing and publishing tool. It is designed to make the process of writing, editing, and producing scientific papers much quicker for authors. Claim your Overleaf Professional upgrade by signing up (or signing in) at the UW resource portal. https://www.overleaf.com/edu/uw

After clicking on the above link, if you scroll down you can select Sign on with SSO (single sign on) - then you will be prompted for your UW NetID and Password.

Tips to gain access to your Professional Upgrade.

If you have an Overleaf Account with your netid@uw.edu already created try this:

  • Log out of Overleaf 
  • When logging back in, log in using the SSO (single sign on option towards the bottom)
  • Enter your full UW email address as you sign in.
  • If you click Account Settings, you should now see the Professional icon below your email address indicating you have been upgraded.
