A&S Group 6 EH&S committee meeting

February 16, 2012, 3:00 pm

Present:  Tracy Harvey, Bob Blum, Bob Shupe, Michael Blalock, Matt MacAdam, John Martin

1. Meeting called to order by committee chair at 3:08 pm.

1. UW EH&S representative Michael Blalock introduced herself to the committee.

1. Chair opened discussion to elect a committee member to attend the University wide EH&S meetings.  Bob Shupe self-nominated; nomination unopposed.

1. Chair led discussion of choosing new member to record minutes while looking directly at committee member Martin.  Inexplicably, Martin self-nominated; nomination unopposed.

1. Chair opened discussion on nominating a representative to the UW Board of Environmental Health and Safety.  Nomination period closes on 3/1 and voting closes on 3/9.  Reps serve a 2-year term.  Details of the nomination will be forwarded to all committee members.

1. Chair presented incident reports from previous meeting deemed incomplete.

2011-12-022 Burke Museum—still no corrective action, additional follow-up required.

1. Chair presented documents showing accident statistics by nature of injury for 2011 for the College of Arts and Sciences, for all departments excluding the medical centers and an OSHA summary of work related injuries and illnesses for the entire University.

1. Next meeting set for March 15, 2012 at 3:00 pm.
