Regardless of support level, be sure to think through the following during the early stages of planning your event:
- Review the Racial Equity Assessment created by UWAA
- Audience - What is your event's racial makeup?
- Logistics - Is your program culturally accessible? Consider date, time of day, location, religious holidays, type of food and so on.
- Program - Describe how the content of this program, in part or in full, is designed to benefit and/or appeal to BIPOC audiences.
- Promotion - Where is your program promoted? Are you getting the word out at locations outside the UW?
- Campus accessibility and maps: https://facilities.uw.edu/access-guide
- Policies & Recommendations around In-Person, Virtual, & Hybrid Events
- This will be updated periodically with the latest public health recommendations from University Leadership.
