The Marketing and Communications Web Team provides strategic guidance and technical expertise for the College’s public-facing websites. Our mission is to enhance the College’s digital presence and foster meaningful engagement with students, alumni, donors, and the broader academic community.
We specialize in website development and support for college-level initiatives and academic departments, with a focus on showcasing programs, faculty achievements, and research initiatives. In addition, we offer ongoing training and resources for site editors to ensure content remains accurate, accessible, and aligned with institutional standards.
Our services are dedicated to externally oriented websites that advance the College’s goals in outreach, development, marketing, and student recruitment. Please note that we do not support internally focused or research-specific sites, such as intranet platforms, self-funded research centers, or curriculum-based departmental projects. For assistance with these types of sites, please contact the CAS Information Technology team.
If your project falls outside our scope, we can provide an initial consultation as you collaborate with Creative Communications or an external web development partner.
Help for Our Editors
If you are looking for help with a site supported by the CAS Web Team, please contact us at asweb@uw.edu. If you are not sure whether we support your site, please check the list below.
For other web needs, please contact the CAS Information Technology Team.
Department Web Framework
Our Department Web Framework serves most of the College's departments. If your academic department is one of the units not on our platform, please contact Shane Fricks (sfricks@uw.edu) for more information about joining.
Other Resources
If your department is not eligible for our services or you have in-house resources to assist with website management, we encourage you to explore the following options:
- UW Sites Network: Get a UW-branded WordPress site quickly and easily, without having to worry about the setup or technical maintenance.
- Drupal or WordPress on UW-IT servers: If you need more flexibility than the UW Sites Network provides, build your own site with one of these open-source content management systems used widely around campus.
- Drupal or WordPress on Pantheon: Another option for hosting, with better performance than the UW-IT shared servers.
- Creative Communications: Their team of designers and web developers have all the capabilities of any off-campus agency. As a part of the UW, they understand the brand requirements, the variety and range of audience for all UW communication projects, and the types of creative resources that most effectively tell the UW story.
Supported Sites
