In 2025-2026 we will introduce a small selection of computing devices, aligned with UW standards, and supporting long-term sustainability and performance. When a new workstation is requested, CAS IT will confirm whether monitors or peripherals are needed at that time.
Deans Office Conference Rooms
CAS Dean’s Office Conference Rooms
Dean’s Office in the Communications building has two Conference Rooms for meetings.
CAS Conference Room 065: accommodates 14 (20 doable but tight)
Location: in the CAS Dean’s office in the Communications Building on the main floor
CAS Conference Room B040: accommodates 6 (8 doable but tight)
Location: in the CAS Dean’s office in the Communications Building in the basement

Research Computing
Access high performance computing resources for research and academic work, host research web applications, and store and manage research data securely.
Academic & Event Technology Support
Set up event registration systems and provide live-streaming through Zoom Webinars, Install and troubleshoot hybrid conference room technology for meetings and events, Get technical help for live events, conferences, and other special occasions, Maintain and support computer lab hardware & software used for instruction or research.
IT Procurement
Get help choosing and ordering the right computers, accessories, and other IT equipment, Purchase and manage software licenses for your department’s tools and applications, Track IT equipment and keep records up-to-date throughout its lifecycle.
Process Update:
Copy of purchase approvals are required (email or pdf), along with Cost Center information. Approvals are assumed, when you are the budgetary authority on the Cost Center in question.
Infrastructure & Security
Configure, maintain and support back-end servers, and other IT infrastructure, Protect computers and data with security tools and ensure compliance with university policies

Desktop Support - Test
Get help setting up, maintaining, or troubleshooting your desktop or laptop computer, Access remote desktop tools and general computing resources, Set up and fix printers and printing issues, Get support using Microsoft 365 tools like Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint, Help with managing and syncing your mailing lists.
Applications & Development
Create and maintain websites and web applications, Integrate websites or applications with 3rd-party systems (e.g., ArXiv, event platforms), Build and support custom tools and solutions to improve workflows and processes.
Desktop Support
Get help setting up, maintaining, or troubleshooting your desktop or laptop computer, Access remote desktop tools and general computing resources, Set up and fix printers and printing issues, Get support using Microsoft 365 tools like Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint, Help with managing and syncing your mailing lists.
