Online Giving- Adding to Your Department Website
If your department’s website includes an embedded online giving module (view an example on the College of Arts & Sciences “support us” page), updates can be made to that list of funds anytime.
Gift funds can be re-ordered or moved from the top list of priority funds to the “More Funds” section below, or vice versa. New funds can be added to this list, or funds you’re not currently fundraising for can be removed. Online funds should highlight the 3-5 most impactful funds for your unit, to help direct donors to give to the areas that will make the biggest difference to your department's goals. Typically, that includes your department's "Friends of" fund and any other general student, faculty, or program support funds that are used most often and are the most flexible.
To request changes to your online giving module, send an email to CASadser@uw.edu. A member of the Advancement Services team will facilitate those changes.
Online Giving Links to Individual Funds
There are two ways to create custom URLs that direct to specific gift funds.
To create a general link to the giving page for a particular fund, or funds:
- https://www.washington.edu/giving/make-a-gift/?source_typ=3&source=END-136796 – just replace the last 10 characters with the fund code for your desired fund.
- Note: you can create a link to a page that will list multiple gift funds! Simply add additional fund codes to the end of the link, separated by a comma (no spaces.) Example: https://www.washington.edu/giving/make-a-gift/?source_typ=3&source=DSC-119613,FND-137957,END-133366
If you have an appeal code, add to the end of the giving link, including the appeal code (&appeal=_____)
- https://www.washington.edu/giving/make-a-gift/?source_typ=3&source=DSC-117012&appeal=APL-20790 – replace the first 10 characters (in bold) with your fund code, and the last nine characters (in italic) with your appeal code.
To create a giving link using a vanity link, UMAC can create a shortened, custom giving link on request. Example: giving.uw.edu/yourshorturl
