Annual Department Communications Plans
To support consistent, strategic, and coordinated communications across the College of Arts & Sciences, an annual communications plan template is available for College departments and units. This resource is designed to help teams set goals, identify milestones, plan communications tactics, and surface opportunities for collaboration throughout the year.
Department plans are reviewed and used by the College’s Marketing & Communications team to better understand unit priorities, identify opportunities for collaboration, and align departmental initiatives with broader College communications efforts. This shared planning approach helps anticipate communications needs and supports more effective, coordinated outreach across the College. View your department communications plan or request access here.
Communications Strategy Consultation
Your unit has a compelling story to tell and an audience waiting to hear it. We want to help you share that story more effectively. To this end, we offer communications consultation to help you outline your goals and access the necessary resources to achieve them. Submit a PIF to request a consultation for:
- Content promotion (stories, research findings, events, etc.)
- Launching or refreshing a newsletter
- Promoting student resources, courses, and other opportunities
- Advancement/fundraising communications support (in collaboration with Advancement Services)
- Annual philanthropy, end of year solicitations and Husky Giving Day guidance and resources
Public Engagement - Event and Media Promotion
Across the College, the public has hundreds of opportunities each year to connect with our work through in-person and virtual events, podcasts, books, videos, and more. These activities offer powerful ways to showcase the expertise within your department while cultivating and expanding your audience.
Our team is an enthusiastic partner in helping departments strategically leverage these opportunities to engage broad audiences and increase visibility. One such avenue is the ArtSci Roundup, which earns more than 15,000 views per quarter. To get started, let us know what you are hoping to elevate through the Project Inquiry Form, and review your department’s communications plan to identify additional promotional channels.
In addition, reach out if your department would like a consultation:
- Audience development and outreach strategy
- Promotion support (ArtSci roundup, email, social media, and traditional media promotion guidance)
- Facilitating campus collaborations and partnerships
