Responsibilities include:
Maintain and update departmental policies and procedures as appropriate and in conformance with the Faculty Code and Executive Orders, including department hiring, retention, and merit policies and procedures.
Appoint both standing and ad hoc committees within the department, according to the unit’s governance policies and procedures
Call and preside over faculty meetings and ensure that departmental actions conform to university rules and regulations
Foster leadership experience and professional development opportunities for faculty
- Oversee Academic Program Reviews: supervise the preparation of the self-study, ensure availability of data for the review, and represent the department to the assessment committees and Graduate School Council
