Obtain Approval for Offer from Divisional Dean
- Secure approval from the Divisional Dean to extend an offer.
- Submit a draft of the offer letter for review.
- The offer must be approved by both the Divisional Dean and the CAS Personnel Team before it can be extended to the candidate.
Documentation Tip: Always use current templates for drafting offers instead of reusing previous years’ offers, as links and language are frequently updated.
Offer Revisions
If the offer letter is revised, it must be re-submitted for approval.
Criminal Background Check Compliance
If the position will or may have unsupervised access to children under sixteen, developmentally disabled adults, or other vulnerable populations, follow provisions of the Washington State Child and Adult Abuse Information Law by ensuring that the successful candidate is aware that their employment is contingent upon successfully passing a background check. College Council Review (if applicable)
For appointments at or above the level of Associate Professor (including research, affiliate, and clinical appointments):
- Submit candidate documentation for review and approval by the College Council before making an offer.
- Send the College Council Review of a New Appointment form, with all required documentation, as a single PDF to Julianna Jones in the Dean's Office.
Send Approved Offer Letter
Once approved, send the offer letter to the candidate, CC'ing the Divisional Dean and Ivy Mason-Sharrah.
Close Search in Interfolio
After an offer has been accepted, or if the search is declared failed, close the search in Interfolio.
Note: Timely closure is crucial as it impacts the hiring report submitted to the Provost.
Final Details of Hire Process
Once the accepted offer is received by the College, they will initiate the Final Details of Hire process via Interfolio and send it to the unit for final details. (Walkthrough coming soon.)
