Department Events Support

***CAS Advancement provides support to events and communications that align with the College's broad-based engagement and Advancement priorities. We do not support events and communications that are for internal academic audiences.*** 

Event Criterion – regardless of CAS Advancement support 

Here are important questions to answer in the early stages of planning your event:

  • Have you read through and applied the Race & Equity Assessment created by UWAA, while planning your event?

  • Have you read through the Accessible Events & Best Practices provided by UW ADA/Section 504 Compliance Services, and provided the appropriate accessibility information for your event?

  • Have you read and considered the University's Policies & Recommendations around In-Person, Virtual, & Hybrid Events?

  • Have you created an event landing page/registration link? (This needs to be a page on your website that includes a registration mechanism.)
    Registration mechanisms can be one of the following: 

    • a Trumba calendar link  

    • a link to ArtsUW ticketing 

    • a link to some other event management registration(software/google doc) 

    • via Cvent (with CAS Advancement assistance)

  • Have you determined the audience criteria for your event? 

Find Communications Resources in the Communications Toolkit

If you can't find the resources you need in the Communications Toolkit, submit a project inquiry for consideration by the Marketing and Communications team. They will assess  your inquiry and determine if it aligns with their strategic communications efforts. If they can't support your inquiry, they will connect you with other resources.

To ensure consideration, inquiries should be submitted at least eight weeks in advance of desired completion date - this includes Marketo communication pieces.

If you would like support for your event from CAS Advancement, the minimum timelines are: 

  • For promotion only: 6 weeks

  • For Marketo invitation/communications: 8 weeks before the first event invite send date

  • For Cvent registration page with or without Marketo communications:  8 weeks before the first event invite send date
