Back to TopCAS-IT has implemented the following to mitigate strategies related to cyber security and data protection for its end users across the Dean's Office, Advancement, Marketing and Communications along with several smaller academic units and centers we provide IT support to.
- Sophos Monitoring for Malware, Viruses, ransomwar
- Read more about what Sophos monitors for here.
- CAS-IT has Sophos installed on all systems that are UW owned and that we support.
- This is real-time threat analysis that notifies us if a system is compromised.

We are working to ensure each computer system as encryption turned on as an extra layer of security, in the event of theft.

We keep records of data types, locations and work with end users to ensure data is backed up, secure and a plan is in place in the event of data loss by means of an outside threat or simple hardware failure.
